What is the difference between nylon brushes and wire brushes for drumset? I went to a music store and asked for a pair of wire brushes. (I'd never heard of nylon ones.) I needed them quick because I was about to play at a wedding, but I had left my wire ones at home. The drums specialist guy said they didn't have any, and that he had been trying to convince the owners to have them in stock for months. Apparently he was a brush snob, because when the lady set a tub of sticks on the counter, there was a tube with nylon brushes inside in it. Brushes in a tube in a tub, yes. So I was wondering, how different are they, really??
How do I clean my copper wire brush? I have a copper wire brush that I use to clean my BBQ grill with, but it's filled with "gunk" and grease. It's all between the wires, it's pretty gross and I'm still using it on my grill. How do I clean the brush to get the stuff off? I tried soaking in hot water over night, but no luck!
How to clean a wire brush? I'm using a wire brush to scrape off paint loosened via chemicals. The paint goo, unfortunately, is now getting lodged in between the wire bristles. How do I clean it out? Since it's made of metal, I'm assuming water wouldn't be a good idea. I did try a quick rinse, though, but to no avail. Please help.
Drill mounted wire brush to remove rust from engine bores? Does anyone know if it is ok to use a drill mounted wire brush to clean the rust off of the bores on my 350 block? I began to do it, and it works great but it is leaving tiny scratchs. Should it hone out? Or if i continue to use this method will i have to bore it? The rust is pretty new, so it is not very deep at all. Thanks
Where can I find a Wire Wig Brush for A Doll? I just got an American girl doll, but am having trouble finding a Wire Brush for it. Where can I find one? Thanks The American Girl Brush is small and WAY too expensive. Plus I don't want to wait 2 weeks and pay S&H.
What do I use a wire brush for? I got a wire brush for my dog. I don`t know what it is used for though. Is it used to take off the loose hair that clings to the fur? Or is it supposed to untangle the hair? I use it on my puppy (husky) but he doesn`t seem to like it.
What's the best way to clean a brass wire grill brush? I've got a brass wire grill brush that I use to clean my charcoal grill. After the last cleaning, there's a lot of greasy gunk in the brush. I've tried soaking it in soapy water overnight, but the gunk is still in there. Should I just dispose of the brush and get a new one, or is there a method that can be used to get out the gunk.
Wire wheel leaves "grey" marks all over paint I am trying to scrape? I need to really really prep my south wall on my 80 yo house before I paint it. I've been pressure washing, scraping, spackling, sanding....So I bought a 41/2 inch disc grinder and a couple different wire wheels. But the old white paint now has a shiney grey residue everywhere. This seems to be normal, even the little wire hand brushed leave grey marks. Can I paint over these marks? I tried wiping off with a wet towel and some came off. Maybe acidic Vineager would help dissolve the steel residue. Or is using a wire brush on old house paint not the correct tool? I got tired of changing sandpaper every two minutes.
What's the easiest, most effective way to POLISH stainless steel after wire-brushing it? It's a 316 stainless panel. I don't want to ruin it buy trying high-fine sanding, unless this is the best way. I want it to be glossy. The metal is clean and free of tarnish, since I wire brushed it. The problem is, that chemicals will not affect the surface. I'm looking for a way to smooth this extremely hard metal surface. I want to know how to "buff" it I guess. By polish, I don't mean to get rid of tarnish, but to create a mirror-like surface. Someone out there has to have buffed metal before!
What kind of grooming brush is best for a wire haired dachshund? I mean this question just to be for normal everyday people like me. I'm not a professional groomer. So what is the best type of brush to use on a wire haired dachshund? Maybe a pro groomer or a very experienced person with wire haired dachshunds would be best to answer this.

Powered wire cup brush on concrete to remove scale? I poured a concrete slab a month ago and as it was curing, it developed flakey stuff on the surface (I believe it's called scale). I tried scrubbing it off with a 6" x 3" wire brush but it was exhausting and I would be there for days since the slab is 12' x 13'... I went to the hardware store and bought a "6 inch coarse knotted wire cup brush" for my Dewalt angle grinder. Will this do a nice job or make a mess? The 1' x 1' spot I cleaned up by hand looks good. I'm worried the power brush might leave scuff marks or something. The concrete is 5000 PSI with reinforcing fiber. By the way, I dampen the concrete before I scrub... Any concrete gurus please advise. Thanx!
are brushes in a vdg hooked up to a power source? I can't rap my head around this one. Lets say you use a battery to power your spray(brushes), but how do you get the electrons to flow through the wire and jump to the belt if it's not in a complete circuit?
Wire on retainer keeps on moving? I've got a Hawley retainer when I got my braves of and it's just got one wire, that goes all around. When ever my lip brushes against the wire it moves with my lip. Is this suppose to happen?? I've only had it less than a month goin back in march should I make an earlier appointment?
Buying a HANDGUN but what is "Wire Brush"? I am going to buy a Ruger hand gun (Ruger P95 9MM 15RD), I tried it feels good, its relative cheap in price I read positive reviews about it online but nothing is perfect of course and under disadvantages it had "may require wire brush to loading ramp". How do I fix copper wire to my roof to stop moss growing? I have a problem with moss growing on my bungalow roof. It falls all over the path and makes such a mess. Where can I get a super sturdy dog brush to hold up on my Great Pyrenees.? I have gone through so many brushes on my GP. The pins either break off, or the entire rubber backing pops out of the brush. I need a super sturdy wire brush to get through my pups fur that will hold up the way it should. With the amount of money I have spent on the cheapies, I could have gotten a super nice one, I'm sure.
What do RAF bases use to de snow their runway? My dad is an ex RAF firefighter and use to do the snow removal, his bases use to use a long network of hoses or wire brushes delivering pigs urine, then towed a jet engine behind. this would melt the snow and stop it from freezin with the pigs urine.? With all the snow and airport closures at the moment in england? should we look to new ways to de-snow our runways?
How to refurbish a rusted bird cage.? I recently got a bird cage from a friend of mine. It is quite rusted. The bottom plastic part has been cleaned and sanitized. However the metal bars are being quite the chore. I purchased some non toxic paint (per the pet store's reccomdation) however how much of the rust must I get off before I can paint over it? How do I remove stubborn pet hairs from my car.? I've tried rubber and wire brushes, rubber gloves, sticky rollers and velcro hair curlers to remove pet hairs from my car but none of them remove the stubborn ingrained hairs embedded in the upholstery easily. They only remove the hairs lying on or close to the surface unless you put an inordinate amount of effort into it. I want an easier method, so, is there a device which I can use with a vacuum cleaner to remove the embedded hairs which the other methods leave behind?
chimney cleaning?? wire brush method didn't work? Hi, I wanted to clean the soot in my chiney..went to the home depot to buy a wire chimney brush...they had 2 sizes..a 6 and a 8 inch round brush. The box said to measure the flue and get the correct size..too big and it will get stuck..too small and it won't get the job done correctly. My flue measured an 8 so I bought the 8 inch brush...only to find that it got stuck literally in my chimney when I went up on the roof. So I took it back and got the 6..which was too small to really get the job done..wtf??? I used the weighted brush/gravity method..I couldn't use the poles..too expensive and it really wasn't safe to do this method on my roof. so what is the best way to clean the chimney then? do those chemical logs really work??? and please don't suggest a profession...is there another alternative? well I thought..an 8 inch flue..an 8 inch wire brush because I thought the force of gravity/weight on the brush would force it down the stack..it is a round metal stack..not square brick chimney) I tired using the 6 inch brush .but it was like throwing a hotdog down the hallway. I felt if i used those rods instead of gravity..it may have worked..but remember my fireplace is more tin than brick..( it is a gas ingition one)
