  1. Use makeup brush cleanser clinique, mac, bobbi brown & estee lauder have it
  2. Use a makeup brush shampoo or baby shampoo. Wet the brush, and work the shampoo into it. Rinse out, reshape the brush, and dry flat.
  3. i put a small amt of clarifing shampoo in a cup with hot water and let them soak for a few minutes. then i rinse them in warm water really well and then shape and let them air dry.
  4. I was using either Ivory dish soap or baby shampoo previously, but just switched to a homemade concoction that will remove and treat the hairs much better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FwklwLsSSg&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIGEr81FqTM from EnKore on youtube. I've been using it - great job, and really cheap.
  5. I use the same cleanser as my skin...that way I have less of a chance of a break out. fill a tupperwear container with luck warm water(makesure its not hot or it will melt the glue)...and mix in your cleanser....soak your brushes for a while...( I do it in the morning...and rinse them when I get back from work)...then make sure you rinse them out VERY good...and that the water runs clear from them...take a towel...a clean one...and start brushing the towel as if you were trying to get the color out of it...make sure you let them completely air dry afterwards
  6. I use my face wash or the nearest shampoo I can find. DO NOT SOAK THEM... the coating around my makeup brushes cracked fell to pieces after acouple times I did that. The wood under it swelled. Put a teeny bit of soap in the palm of your hand and with your wet brush, swirl it around and rinse until you can't see color anymore... lay on a towel to dry.
  7. you have lots of options for washing brushes. i personally use a few methods to keep my brushes clean. i use a spray cleaner daily and a mix-with-water solution every weekend. for quick cleans during the day, i use Brush Off. $14 at sephora. this is a spray that can be applied to any brush that has a powder makeup on it. the spray causes the powder to bead to the top of the bristles, and then you just swipe on a tissue to clean. this is a quick fix only, and not to be used as a substitute for regular washing. for weekend washing, i use Merle Norman Conditioning Brush Cleaner. $5 at merle norman. this is a liquid that is added to a bowl of warm water, and can clean powders and liquids from bristles. add a capful, and swirl brushes. let sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse under warm water until water runs clear. reshape bristles and lay flat. let dry completely before reuse. both natural and synthetic brushes should be cleaned regularly for optimal performance and sanitation. mac and sephora also offer brush cleaners at about $10. johnson baby shampoo or dial hand soap (the "gold" one) can also be used to wash brushes. NEVER use a brush that is not completely dry.
  8. Soap and water in the bathroom sink! I have an expensive collection of Ruby & Millie brushes and this works a treat! Just let them have a lil soak then gently clean them with your fingers before patting them dry with a towel and leaving them to dry! Make sure you get all the soap out of the brisels though! x
