Scrubbing Brushes

Do those ceiling fan blade cleaning brushes work?

I have seen ceiling fan blade cleaning brushes in the fans section at Walmart and Lowes. Do they really work in cleaning the blades? We have a ceiling fan in almost every room of the house and this time of the year they are not always on (it's cooler) and each time I turn one off the blades look dusty and even icky. Just wondered if those cleaning brushes are worth the money.

  1. Not as well as formula 409 and a rag.
  2. they work, yes. but whoever last cleaned my fan knocked it off balance so now it makes a really really annoying noise when i turn it on. so just be careful to not do that with the stupid cleaner brush thing or you'll deeply regret it haha
  3. absolutely...i swear by them! i don't know what i did with out them.
  4. They don't really work for me. I find the best solution is a used dryer sheet. It picks up all the dust with one or two strokes. The only bummer is you have to pull out the step stool to get up there.
  5. I really wouldn't waste my money on them. Climb up a ladder and clean with a microfiber cloth. That's what I do.
  6. Yes. I recommend you get one. More than likely those fans are right over head of a sitting or sleeping area and that nasty dust that collects up there is so awful by the time you actually SEE it well let's just say you'll be healthier. Git -R-Done.
  7. Yes. You might have to wash them the first time if they are grimy. But the brushes will keep them clean if used regularly.
  8. I Tried the brushes once and they are ok but then I found Ceiling fan Sleeves, you can just put them in the washing machine when they get dirty and then put them back on the blade again, so really the blade never actually gets dirty best cleaning product ive found in a long time. We have 8 fans in our house and I have these sleeves on all of them. Saves HEAPS of Time :)
